We help filmmakers worldwide with finding the right services for filmmaking in Northern Iceland. Including production services, staff, talent, craft services, accommodation and locations. Our advantage is to have a local sense of the logistics of Northern Iceland as well as experience in various filmmaking projects. Film North Iceland is the best place to start reaching out to when you want to start shooting in Northern Iceland. In 2017 new laws were confirmed regarding 25% reimbursements to production companies that shoot their projects in Iceland. Film North Iceland offers services in putting together the application and manage the reimbursement process. All information about the reimbursement are at the Icelandic Film Centre.

Anna Sæunn Ólafsdóttir

Anna is an Icelandic filmmaker and entrepreneur. She is born and raised in the rural countryside of Northern Iceland, Bárðardalur. Since being a teenager Anna has been based in Akureyri, Reykjavík, Los Angeles and New York but is currently living in Northern Iceland. Her work includes producing, directing and writing short and documentary films. Examples of previous work is starring in and working in production of 2015 Cannes Un Certain Regard winning feature film Hrútar by Grímur Hákonarson and Line Production of the award winning short films Rainbow Party and Salvation. Anna has directed a few documentary projects and is has few fiction and documentary projects in development.

Árni Gunnarsson

Árni is a filmmaker, entrepreneur and teacher based in Sauðárkrókur, Northern Iceland. Árni has a yearlong experience in producing, directing and shooting documentary films as well as teaching filmmaking in the filmmaking college in Sauðárkrókur. Árni has background in journalism and politics and is very well connected within the region and the Icelandic filmmaking industry.

Dagný Hulda Valbergsdóttir

Dagný is filmmaker with a Bachelor Degree in Ethnography and Masters Degree in Mixed Culture Media. She is also a driverguide and very knowledgeable about North Iceland’s nature, people and logistics.
